moomoo Setup
moomoo connects in about a minute: you sign in on moomoo's own site and approve read-only market data, with no developer app, key or secret to copy. Tradier and Public each connect with one pasted key instead, and tastytrade and Schwab with their own OAuth apps (see their setup guides).
Your moomoo sign-in is kept in your browser sealed to your account, so only our servers can open it, and only for you; it is sent to our proxy solely to fetch your market data. It is not written to our database unless you separately opt in to encrypted credential storage, which is offered on the Pro tier and above.
Step 1: Have a moomoo US account
You need a moomoo US brokerage account, which is free to open at moomoo.com. moomoo serves US option quotes in real time once the account holds assets or a US position; until then it serves them delayed. Stock and index quotes are real-time either way.
Step 2: Click "Connect moomoo"
On your Account page, open the Broker API Settings tab, find the moomoo card and click "Connect moomoo". You are sent to moomoo's own sign-in page.
Step 3: Sign in at moomoo and approve read-only market data
Sign in with your moomoo login and approve Options Analysis Suite. The access you approve is read-only market data: we never see your moomoo password, and it cannot place trades or read your account. moomoo then returns you to the Account page, connected.
Step 4: Test the connection
Click "Test" on the moomoo card. It also checks whether moomoo serves your option quotes in real time; until it does, pages showing moomoo option prices say they may be delayed. To make moomoo the broker the app reads first, choose it under Primary Data Provider on the same tab.
Step 5: Know its limits
moomoo allows about 30 requests a minute per moomoo account, shared with your other moomoo apps, so large scans pace themselves. Live quotes stream through our servers. moomoo provides no intraday candles here; the intraday Stock Charts views need Tradier or Schwab.
Step 6: Optional: the AI tools and the API
On Pro and above, store the connection under Stored broker credentials on the same tab so AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude) can use it. On the API tier, copy the API token from the moomoo card and send it as the X-Moomoo-Sealed-Token header with X-Broker-Type: moomoo. If moomoo ever stops accepting the sign-in, the card says "Reconnect needed": click "Reconnect moomoo".
Done! Click "Connect moomoo" on the moomoo card on your Account page.
